The Heartberry in Anishinaabe language, it’s “Ode’imin” (pronounced o-day-i-min), “ode” meaning heart, and “imin” meaning berry. Aka. Strawberries.
The heartberry represents joy, love and sharing.
In Anishinaabe culture the Heartberry is a traditional food, it is part of ceremonies including weddings, celebration, and feasts. The flavour of the small berry is potent and sweet. The shape of the berry, and its red colour represents love.
The heartberry is an important part of Anishinaabe culture the symbol is incorporated into beadwork, quillwork and paintings.
My Silver jewellery is crafted in small batches at an Indigenous owned Vancouver studio. Made from high quality sterling silver, using a blend of hand-finishing and precision casting techniques, soldered to ensure lasting durability and elegance.
