This image is a large scale original painting of a Medicine Wheel. This image represents the traditional teachings of living in balance. The colour layout varies for different First Nations cultures, but the meaning is still the same. The four colours: Red, Yellow, White and Black represent balance and equality. The four colours of people, the four directions, the four seasons, and are direction on how to care for ourselves, striving for balance in all aspects of the mental, emotion, physical, and spiritual self.
The wooden canvas is round and is 1" width. The sides are painted with red oxide, to represent the colour of core, which is used in traditional ceremonies.
